Community Pie Social
This event is no longer on sale.
Thursday April 26
7:00 PM  –  9:00 PM

You’re invited to our Community Pie Social, a time for neighborly fellowship and conversation over pie about topical issues that impact people's daily lives. We will break bread and listen to each other as we discuss issues of displacement and disposability in communities of color.

Our current exhibition, Transitory Emplacements, is our starting point. The exhibition addresses themes of homelessness, migration, and belonging in relation to power and identity. We will also consider our A Tale of Two Cities initiative, which seeks to elevate the voices of our North Tryon neighbors experiencing homelessness.

We’ll have small group conversations with each other, as well as a larger group discussion led by Dr. Keith Cradle, the Adolescent Program Manager for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is joined by Carmen Fowler, Assistant Director of Moore Place; and image activist Alvin C. Jacobs Jr.

Bring a sweet or savory pie to share with others.

Free admission and registration is recommended below as space is limited.
