Fall 2019 artist-in-residence Lacey McKinney will share concepts behind her creative process and invite you and other participants to be photographed in order to become part of her work. The portraits will become the source material for paintings McKinney will create during her residency at McColl Center.

McKinney considers representations of women throughout art history and in popular culture, in the context of the social implications of race, class, and gender. Her project underscores the importance of inclusive feminist practice and seeks to bring together people with various backgrounds in a display of strength, self-determination, and agency.
